Maurice Grossman Studio Pottery Oversized Vessel

An oversized vessel by the American studio pottery Maurice Grossman (1927-2010). Standing a foot tall, this large vessel has a light brown glaze and a design along the upper portion in a darker brown. The work is signed "grossman" along the bottom edge.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Grossman attended Wayne State University and Ohio State University before moving to Tucson, Arizona. There he became an instructor and created the ceramics program at the University of Arizona. After 35 years of teaching, Grossman retired but continued mentoring and creating art pottery.
