A 1991 set of ceramic wall sculptures by American artist Ana England (born 1953). From her “Essential Equation” series, this wall sculpture consists of two zigzagging arrows with a gunmetal gray glaze. Unsigned, the pieces have notches in the back for hanging the sculpture flush with a surface.

England studied ceramics at San Jose State University where she graduated with her graduate degree. She went on to teach at Northern Kentucky University, where she is now professor emeritus. England has exhibited widely throughout the United States, including a solo show at the Cincinnati Art Museum. Her work often focuses on our relationship with the natural world.

28.5” W x 7.75” H x 1.5” D (each).

Condition notes:

Some white paint around edges and to the front of one arrow. Wear to verso. Other signs of age appropriate wear.
