A 1975 mixed media print by the American artist Robert C. Ray (1926-2020). This vibrant abstract work uses splashes of blue, yellow, and green layered over faint geometric shapes. Signed and dated to the lower right, the work is displayed in a silver tone metal frame and a white mat.
Born in Elwood, Indiana, Ray attended the John Herron Art School in Indianapolis. After spending time abroad in Spain and Italy in 1953, he studied under Hans Hoffman in Provincetown, Massachusetts at Hoffman's School of Fine Art. Ray was also a writer and poet with several published books. In addition to being an artist, Ray also ran an interior decorating business in Indianapolis.
