Jonathan Janson 1989 Signed Watercolor Cityscape


A 1989 watercolor cityscape by American artist Jonathan Janson (b. 1950). The watercolor depicts an industrial scene with a parked box truck and transit trailers in the foreground and a distant cityscape in the background. The painting is signed to the lower left corner and presented behind mat in a wooden frame.  

Born in New Jersey in 1950, Jonathan Janson received his degree in Fine Arts at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island in 1972.  He participated in the European Honors Program in Rome, Italy in 1972 where he now lives and works. Janson is known for his oil and watercolor paintings that have been displayed in international galleries such as the Galleria Don Chisciotte in Rome and art museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Janson's current interest is authoring websites regarding the 17th-century painter Johannes Vermeer.
