A 1963 limited edition lithograph titled, Celestial Animal by American artist Kenneth E. Tyler (born 1931). The lithograph depicts a copper-colored owl-like head with faint accents throughout the face and border. The lithograph is numbered "14/16", titled, and signed "K. Tyler 1963" to the lower right corner.
Kenneth E. Tyler was born in East Chicago, Indiana, in 1931. In the early 50s, Tyler studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Indiana University, and under Garo Antreasian at the John Herron School of Art in Indiana, graduating with a Master of Art Education in 1963. As a master printer, publisher, and arts educator, Tyler's expertise attracted many well-known artists such as Anthony Caro, Jasper Johns, and Robert Rauschenberg. Tyler established many print workshops coast-to-coast. The largest collection of Tyler's prints are held at the National Gallery of Australia.
