A 1949 oil on canvas painting titled, Ponte Vecchio #2, Florence, by Indiana artist Randall Morgan (born 1920). The Cubist style painting depicts an assorted grouping of rectangles and squares that form Florence's landmark bridge the Ponte Vecchio in hues of blue, green, gray, and peach. The painting is presented a gold tone frame and signed "Morgan" to the lower right corner. The painting is titled and signed verso.
Known for revivified Cubist-Geometric paintings, American artist Randall Morgan studied at Indiana University, Cincinnati University, and Teacher's College at Columbia College. He held the director position at the Positano Art Workshop, in Italy from 1953 to 1960 and was the director of the Randall Morgan School of Art, Sant' Agata, Due Golfi, Naples, Italy, from 1967 to 1970. Morgan has exhibited widely including the Museum of Modern Art, Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Festival of Two Worlds.
