Robert Alan Smith 1960 Signed “Crow Flight” Abstract Serigraph


A 1960 abstract serigraph titled Crow Flight by American artist Robert Alan Smith  (1927-2008). The mid-century print depicts a black crow in flight surrounded by splashes of earth tones with accents of blue and pink. The serigraph is presented behind a cream mat in a gold tone frame. The print is dated, signed, and titled to the lower portion. 

Robert Alan Smith was born July 17, 1927, in Pasadena, California. From 1948-49, Smith studied at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles, California and the Escuela Universitaria de Bellas Artes, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Throughout his life, he established a well-regarded dual art career as an animator and fine artist. Smith’s work has been exhibited or is held in collections at the Smithsonian Institution, the White House, the Library of Congress, and a number of universities.

Scratches, scuffs, and other wear to the frame. Some discoloration to the paper. There is a barely visible chip in the glass at the top left corner.
