Mario Gambaro Signed Italian Murano Art Glass Vase

A Murano art glass vase by the Italian glass artist Mario Gambaro (born 1941). Made in Italy and Ssigned “Gambaro M” to the underside, this tall cobalt blue vase sits on a circular base. Ruffled glass designs have been affixed to the sides of the vase. Circular millefiori designs dot the body of the vase throughout.
Mario Gambaro was born into the art of glassmaking, with glass designers Eduino Ferro and Elia Ferro as his grandparents. He studied as an assistant of Alfredo Barbini and worked at the Seguso Vetri d’Arte Glass Factory until its close in the 1970s. Gambaro went on to establish the Vetreria Artistica Gambaro & Poggi with fellow artist Bruno Poggi.
