A signed art glass paperweight with poppies by artist Victor Trabucco (born 1949). The bottom of the paperweight is sky blue in color, with a bunch of red poppies in the center of the composition. One poppy is full in bloom, with white flowers adjacent. The stems and leaves are bright green. Signed and dated “Trabucco 1988” to the underside as well as marked with Trabucco's "VT" cane signature to the underside of one of the leaves.
Victor Trabucco is based out of New York and is a self-taught glass artist. Discovering the craft in 1974, Trabucco focuses his work on small sculptures and paperweights. He is highly respected in the glass blowing community, pioneering new techniques in glass art. Victor and his two sons, Jon and David, continue to produce art at Trabucco Studios.
