$225.00

A 1990 cast paper print by the American artist Suzanne Anker (born 1946). Titled Cacoon, this work featured a textured honeycombed gray surface accented with organic and natural shapes, some of which are brightly colored. Signed and titled verso, this work was produced at Dobbin Paper Mill, Brooklyn for The Print Club of Cleveland and is displayed in a black frame.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Anker studied at Brooklyn College where she studied with Jimmy Ernst, Ad Reinhardt, and Harry Holtzman. She went on to study at the University of Colorado, Boulder. It was during the mid-1970s that Anker began working with paper casting and she quickly started combining the medium with natural forms and textures, underscoring her interest in the natural world and science. Her current work reflects this interest and often incorporating botanical specimens, laboratory apparatus, medical museum artifacts, and other scientific paraphernalia.
