Bohumil Eliáš Sr. Signed 2000 Laminated Art Glass Sculpture


A 2000 laminated art glass house sculpture by Czech artist Bohumil Eliáš, Sr. (1937-2005). The house-shaped red glass sculpture with a rectangular "window" reveals colorful abstract floating objects in a layered form. The sculpture is signed “Eliáš 2000“ to the top angle. 

Born in the Czech Republic, Bohumil Eliáš Sr. attended the Secondary Applied Arts School of Glassmaking in Železný Brod and then later studied at the Prague Academy of Art, Architecture and Design. Eliáš' was known for creating sculpture by layering sheet glass and using paint to give the illusion of floating forms. His sculptures and paintings remain in both private and public collections in many countries throughout the world.

Condition notes:

Scratches to the bottom. There are some small nicks in the glass along the edges.
