Alessandro Mendini Alessi “Anna G.” Corkscrew

An "Anna G." figural corkscrew in the form of a woman designed by the Italian designer Alessandro Mendini (1931-2019) for Alessi. The figure's metal head and arms are silver in color, while the surface design of the dress features Mendini's signature dots in red, yellow, green, pink, black and white. "Anna G' was designed by Mendini in 1994 as an homage to his girlfriend, Italian designer Anna Gili.

Mendini graduated from Politecnico di Milano in 1959 with a degree in architecture. He was the editor-in-chief of Domus magazine from 1979 to 1985. His quintessential works of postmodernism include the Proust Armchair and the Groninger Museum. He was a designer, an architect, and an image consultant for companies like Philips, Swarovski, Swatch, and Bisazza.
