Beni E. Kosh Signed 1966 “Brigitte #7” Abstract Oil on Board Painting
A 1966 oil on board painting by the American artist Beni E. Kosh (alias Charles Elmer Harris, 1917-1993). Titled Brigitte #7 to the lower right, this abstract work uses a blue palette to create a geometric prism-like shape. Signed and dated to the lower right, the painting is mounted and displayed in a black wooden frame.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1917, Charles Elmer Harris later changed his name to Beni E. Kosh, meaning "Son of Ethiopia". Kosh studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art and later worked with the “Sho Nuff Art Group”. His work was unrecognized during his lifetime.

Age appropriate wear. The edges of the painting are not cut straight. There is some jaggedness and chipping to the paint around the edges of the board as well. There is some uneven application the the paint with some of the board underneath visible. Minor wear to the frame.
