A 2004 abstract wall sculpture titled, CAJJZ 109, made by American artist David Ryan (born 1971). This biomorphic sculpture composed of acrylic on medium density fiberboard features stacked and affixed freeform shapes. Multiple layers of purple and white sculpted board with red accents create a dimensional affect. The sculpture is unsigned and originally purchased from Mark Moore Fine Art in Orange, California, and comes from the estate of Craig W. Johnson.
David Ryan attended the University of Texas in Austin where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and continued his studies under Libby Lumpkin and Dave Hickey at the University of Nevada where he received his MFA. Ryan is known for transforming the mundane into visually interesting wall sculpture. His work has been exhibited at the Galerie Jean-Luc & Takako Richard, Seomi & Tuus, Laguna Art Museum, and James Kelly Contemporary among others.
