Carl Pope Signed 2005 “Move Into the Gap” York Show Print Poster


A 2005 York Show print poster by American artist Carl Pope (born 1961). The poster depicts the phrase, "Move Into the Gap Between Words and Reality" in black and gray text upon white ground. An intentional smear of black ink extends across the top portion of the text.  The poster is marked at the bottom "York Show Print, PO Box 154, York AL 36925" and is signed and dated to the lower right. 

Carl Pope was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, and earned his Master of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University. He is widely known for his ongoing installation posters, "The Bad Air Smelled of Roses". Pope is devoted to creating art that stimulates individual and collective metamorphosis.
