A 1984 abstract wood sculpture of a nude woman carved by Danish-American sculptor Gert Olsen (born 1937). Signed "G. Olsen 1984" to the bottom edge, the sculpture features a curvaceous nude figure standing upon a round stone base in a stylized pose.
Gert Olsen was born and studied in Denmark. He immigrated to Canada and gained citizenship in the United States during the early 1960s. He is widely known for his exceptional wood and stone carving sculptures of abstract objects, human forms, and animals.
