A limited edition serigraph on metal foil titled, Coast Range, by the American printmaker Carol Summers (1925-2016). Known for using woodcut process to create his works, the metallic serigraph print depicts a red and yellow rainbow over blue and green waves surrounded by silver metal foil. Titled and numbered “3/100 Coast Range” to the top left, the unframed print is signed “Carol Summers” to the top right.
American artist Carol Summers is extensively known for his woodcut process of printmaking. Born in New York, Summers studied at Bard College and at the Art Students League of New York in classical and studio arts. Summers developed a manner of printmaking known as the "Carol Summers Technique" which produces simple yet wildly vibrant color patterns. Summers' works are in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Brooklyn Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and others.
