John Prip Reed and Barton Dimension Silverplate Tea Set

A Reed and Barton Dimension silverplate tea set designed by American master metalsmith John Prip (1922-2009). Designed in 1961, the 3-piece Modernist set includes a lidded coffee pot, lidded sugar bowl, and creamer. The handle for the coffee pot is wrapped in a woven plastic. Coffee pot, creamer, and sugar bowl are all marked “Reed & Barton” and “Dimenson.” Teapot numbered “1500” to underside, creamer numbered “1503” to underside, and sugar bowl numbered “1502” to underside.

 

Measurements:

5” x 4” x 3.75” (creamer); 4.5” x 5” x 4.5” (sugar bowl with lid); 9.5” x 8.5” x 6” (coffee pot).

Condition notes:

Scratches and scuffs present, most notably near the underside of the teapot’s spout. Tarnish present. Some wear and discoloration to the wrapped handle.
