Harry Hilson Signed 1960s Oil on Canvas Abstract Painting

A 1960s oil on canvas painting by the American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). From the early part of Hilson's Bela Bartok Series, this abstract painting features an array of shapes highly concentrated amongst the entirety of the painting. Vibrant layers of browns, blues, white, and orange color overlap and meld giving a dimensional effect.  The painting is signed along the right edge in yellow and is displayed in a black wooden frame.

Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios could be found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.
