Franco Albini Style Bamboo and Rattan Rocking Chair


A vintage bamboo and rattan rocking chair in the style of Franco Albini. Composed of bent bamboo and rattan, this sleek chair is a welcome addition to any sitting area. The chair accommodates a range of postures and features a rounded back with singular bamboo pieces that compose both the arms and rocker portion of the chair. 

Italian architect, designer, and design instructor Franco Albini (1905-1977) obtained his architecture degree from Politecnico di Milano University in 1929. Working for Gio Ponti and Knoll, Albini combined tradition Italian artisanship with a modern aesthetic creating a minimalistic design. He created several bamboo and rattan furniture designs and some attribute this chair as one of his designs.
