An oil on canvas abstract painting by American artist James Massena March (1953-2021). Signed “JIM MARCH (Massena)” to the verso, this work depicts two figures, a martini glass and mirror among road signs in the foreground. A distant cityscape fills the background under a clear, cream colored sky. Displayed in a black frame, an artist estate tag is affixed verso.
James Massena March was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and spent most of his life living in Ohio. March attended The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and Rhode Island School of Design for some time, eventually receiving his Bachelor's degree from Cleveland State University and Master's of Fine Art at Kent State University. His work is in the collections of PNC Bank, Cleveland State University, and Case Western Reserve University.
