A color pochoir print after a painting by the Spanish artist Joan Miró (1893-1983). Pulled from a limited edition 1953 catalogue titled Miró: Recent Paintings printed in Paris by Mourlot. The print, after a painting by Miró, features an abstract line drawing with a green moon and asterisk over a brown ground. The print is presented behind white mat in a black frame.
The publication Miró: Recent Paintings details that "This catalogue has been printed by Mourlot Freres in Paris for Pierre Matisse at the occasion of the artist's sixtieth anniversary and the presentation of his recent work at the Pierre Matisse Gallery, 41 Eat 57th Street, New York. The edition has been limited to 100 copies on 'Velin D'Arches a La Forme"... and 1,250 copies on velin numbered 101-1,350... Paris 23 Octobre 1953". The publication from which this print has been pulled is number 683/1250.
