A Mid Century Modern Environment 70 coffee table designed by Milo Baughman (1923-2003) for Thayer Coggin. The substantial rectangular table features a wood top with a dark stain. Two metal stretchers support the table top. The coffee table rests upon two smokey gray acrylic and rectangular legs.
American designer Milo Ray Baughman, Jr. began his design career at the age of 13 when his ideas were included in the design of his family home. At the age of 24, he opened Milo Baughman Design, Inc. Baughman was instrumental in developing the California Modern esthetic with other California designers of his time. In 1953, Baughman began collaborating with the North Carolina furniture manufacturer Thayer Coggin. Thayer Coggin continues to make Milo Baughman furniture today.
