A 1975 abstract chalk pastel drawing on paper by American artist Paul Reed (1919-2015). The drawing depicts an array of geometric shapes outlined in black. Orange, teal, hot pink, green and purple color fill the overlapping forms of the drawing. The dpiece is displayed behind a white mat in a silver tone frame and is signed "Paul Reed 1975" to the lower right corner and dated 5-20-75 to the bottom left
Associated with the Washington Color School and Color Field Painting, Paul Reed was known for abstract paintings that he created by using a soak-staining technique that created simplistic shapes and forms that mimicked nature.
