An artist's proof abstract aquatint etching by French artist Jean Signovert (1919-1981). The black and gray aquatint depicts an abstract arrangement of irregularly shaped orbs amassed among various intersecting horizontal, vertical, and transverse lines. Displayed behind an off-white mat in a metal frame, the aquatint is signed and titled to the lower portion.
Painter, sculptor, designer, Jean Signovert attended Saint-Étienne School of Fine Arts in France. He was known for his post-war abstraction and his expertise on hand press printing the engravings of Georges Braque, Maurice Estève, Olivier Debré, and many others. Acclaimed museums and galleries world wide have featured Signovert's works.
