A 1975 abstract chalk pastel drawing on paper by American artist Paul Reed (1919-2015). The drawing depicts an array of geometric shapes filled with orange, teal, pink, and light green color with transverse lines intersecting cloud-like forms. Signed "Paul Reed 1975" to the lower right corner and dated 1975 to the lower left, the drawing is displayed behind a white mat in a gold and green wooden frame.
Associated with the Washington Color School and Color Field Painting, Paul Reed was known for abstract paintings that he created by using a soak-staining technique that created simplistic shapes and forms that mimicked nature.
