A 1980s Postmodern ceramic tea set designed by American ceramist Dorothy Hafner (born 1952). Geometric designs accent the sides of the set which includes a bamboo handled teapot, lidded sugar, and creamer. Each piece is marked and dated to the underside.
Ceramist and glass artist Dorothy Hafner completed her graduate work at Skidmore College in 1974. She has designed tableware for Tiffany & Co., Neiman Marcus, and Rosenthal. Two of Hafner's works are featured at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
9.25" x 9" x 3.5" (teapot with handle up); 5.25" x 3.75" x 2.25" (creamer); 3.5" x 3.5" x 2.75" (sugar).
Crazing present. The spout of the creamer has a small imperfection and has an extremely small fleck of the glaze missing.
