Dorothy Hafner 1983 Signed Madras Collection Color Block Postmodern Bowl


A 1983 color block Postmodern bowl from the Madras Collection designed by the American artist Dorothy Hafner (born 1952) for Neiman Marcus. The square bowl features a green, purple, and pink color block design to the center with a green speckled rim and purple glaze. The bowl is marked "Dorothy Hafner '83" and is signed on the underside. 

Ceramist and glass artist Dorothy Hafner completed her graduate work at Skidmore College in 1974. She has designed tableware for Tiffany & Co., Neiman Marcus, and Rosenthal. Two of Hafner's works are featured at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
