A 1982 lidded jar by American artist Ginger Mongiello. This vessel features a pale tinted base glaze with incised designs across the surface. Near the bottom, painterly slip resembles a landscape with blue, green, and peach tones. Signed "Mongiello '82" to the underside.
Mongiello holds a BFA degree from the University of Michigan and an MA from the University of New Mexico. Throughout her career, she has held more than 18 solo shows and taught in several states. She works across a breadth of media including ceramics, drawing, and painting. Several collections hold works by Mongiello including the Muskegon Museum of Art; University of New Mexico Health Science Center; Albuquerque Museum, and corporate collections such as Shell Oil.
