Hans Orlowski 1951 "Persephone" Lithograph Print
A lithograph print after a woodblock by German artist Hans Orlowski (1894-1967). Printed in 1951, this print is titled Persephone and depicts the Greek goddess of vegetation. The print is displayed in a gold tone wooden frame and a white mat.
A printmaker as well as a painter, Orlowski studied art under Harold Bengen at the Training Academy of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Berlin. However, his studies were interrupted as a result of World War I. After the war, Orlowski continued his studies under Philipp Franch and after receiving his degree he later taught at the Decorative Art Academy at the Charlottenburg location. Orlowski was a member of the Berlin Secession.
