A signed wooodcut print by German artist Hans Orlowski (1894-1967). Signed to the lower right, the print depicts a woman standing next to a crumbling brick wall with a bird flying behind her. The print is displayed in a wooden frame and a cream-colored mat.
A printmaker as well as a painter, Orlowski studied art under Harold Bengen at the Training Academy of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Berlin. However, his studies were interrupted as a result of World War I. After the war, Orlowski continued his studies under Philipp Franch and after receiving his degree he later taught at the Decorative Art Academy at the Charlottenburg location. Orlowski was a member of the Berlin Secession.
