Harry Hilson 1965 “Blue Form in Space” Abstract Sculpture
A 1965 abstract sculpture made from metal and fiberglass by American artist Harry Hilson. A thin, translucent plane twists, bends, and curls in space atop a cream base. The blue form is highly textured.
While the work is unsigned, its title and photograph appear in the "1960-1970" section of an archived version of Harry Hilson's 2001 online biography.
12” x 11” x 7” (work); 5.5” x 3” x 2” (base).
Intentional wear due to the found object nature of the work. Heavy rust and scratches throughout. Cracks along the legs where the blue form meets the metal supports. Chips to the blue.
