A 1963 signed abstract watercolor and ink painting by American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Titled #9 of the Window, this piece is part of a series done by the artist of an abstracted view out of his window. A gray watercolor creates a sheen in the background with red shapes accenting the piece. Black line designs are used throughout the composition. The work is signed, dated, and titled to the lower right, and is displayed in a black frame and white mat.

Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.
