A 1970 abstract batik titled Dragon and the Sun by American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). A large red sun is depicted above a black abstracted dragon with a tan background. Yellow lines are on either side of the sun. This batik is stretched and displayed with a black wood frame. The batik is signed, titled, and dated to the bottom right.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios could be found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.
