A 1970 batik by American artist Harry Hilson's (1935-2004). Signed and dated to the lower right corner, this work is from the artist's Structure Series and features distinct, abstracted shapes in four different colors: black, gray, gray-green, and white. The work has been framed in a black wooden frame.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios could be found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.

Discoloration to fabric present throughout, most notably to green areas that have been given a red tint. Some scuffs to frame. Other age appropriate wear. The wooden stretcher is somewhat visible through the white areas of the batik.
