Harry Hilson Signed 1970s Abstract Batik


A 1970s abstract batik by American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). A brightly colored scene is depicted by Hilson, with a red, orange, and pink squiggled border outlining the top half. A green, abstracted tree grows from the center of the composition, with blue leaves surrounding it. Red, yellow, and blue buildings are shown in the lower section of the work, with abstracted shapes complimenting the scene. Signed bottom left, the batik is displayed in a black wooden frame.

Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios could be found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.
