Jean Paul Darriau 1966 Signed Abstract Ink Drawing
$800.00
An abstract ink drawing of a group of figures by Jean Paul Darriau (1929-2006). Darriau's drawing on paper depicts a gathering of abstracted, ambiguous figures in varying poses. Some are seated near one another, while others seem to stand orderly in a line. Each figure is hand drawn and comprised of a unique mark making treatment. Signed "Jean Paul Darriau 1966" to the bottom right hand corner.
Jean Paul Darriau was a well-regarded sculpture professor at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana until his death in 2006. A number of the artist's public works still stand in parks and on campus in the town where he lived with his wife and children for 40 years.
