Jim Forsberg 1956 Signed “Temple” Limited Edition Abstract Woodblock Print


A 1956 abstract woodblock limited edition print titled, Temple, signed by American artist Jim Forsberg (1919-1991). The woodblock print depicts a simplistic, off-balance black temple constructed of rectangular shapes. Dated, titled, signed, and numbered "28/200" to the bottom portion of the print. The print is presented behind a navy blue mat in a wood frame. 

James Alfred Forsberg was born in Minnesota in 1919. He studied art at the Minneapolis School of Art, the St. Paul School of Art, the Art Students League in New York City and the Hans Hofmann School of Art. Forsberg studied with Hans Hofmann and Alexander Masley. Forsberg is known for painting vibrant abstract landscapes with heavy impasto.
