John Burchetta 1988 Signed Art Glass Postmodern Perfume Bottle


A 1988 Postmodern perfume bottle designed and created by the glass artist John Burchetta of Burchetta Hotglass. The piece is conical and primarily pink in color. The opening to the bottle is turquoise. The wandlike stopper and dauber is clear glass and rests inside the top of the bottle. 

Glass artist John Burchetta attended the Massachusetts College of Art and the Rhode Island School of Design. He earned a BFA degree in Glass Design from the University of Kansas in 1985. Burchetta began glass blowing in 1985 having previously worked in Carmel, New York. Under the studio name, "Burchetta Hotglass," he and his wife, Kathleen, produce blown glass vessels that are best known for their use of sleek lines and creative coloration. Today, John continues to blow glass at Burchetta Glassblowing Studio Gallery in Wilmington, North Carolina.
