Keiko Minami Signed Abstract Etching of a Bird and Acorns
An abstract etching by the Japanese artist Keiko Minami (1911-2004). Signed to the lower right, the print depicts a black and red speckled bird perched among acorns and oak leaves. The print is displayed in a brown frame and a cream mat. Written at the lower left of the print is "Epreuve pour Mademoiselle Alix à Paris 29 Mai" (Proof for Miss Alix in Paris May 29). The print is signed to the lower right.
Born in Japan, Keiko Minami studied the art of children's stories with the Japanese novelist Sakie Tsuboi as well as attending the School of Fine Arts Tokyo from 1927-1929. After World War II, she moved to Paris where she studied under Johnny Friedlaender. Minami was later named a United Nations official artist.

Some scratches and chips to the frame. There is a crease along the bottom edge and near the top right. There is a pinhole in the print at the upper left.
