An oil on canvas painting by the American artist Lloyd Lozes Goff (1908-1982). Signed to the lower left, the painting is titled Acoma and depicts and an abstract rendition of one of the iconic plateaus of the Acoma Pueblo in New Mexico rendered in pastel colors. The painting is displayed in a gold tone wooden frame.
Born in Dallas, Lloyd Lozes Goff was a WPA artist known for his murals. He created several commissioned murals for the US Treasury Department, as well as other government agencies and corporations. In 1936, Goff began his studies at the Art Students League in New York where he studied under George Grosz and Kenneth Hayes Miller. His works are in the permanant collections of the Whitney Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Dallas Museum of Fine Art, the Albuquerque Museum of Art, as well as others.
