Marthe Keller 1999 Signed Abstract Watercolor Painting


A 1999 abstract watercolor painting by American artist Marthe Keller (b. 1948). Sprays of red, orange, and gray integrate silver tone vertical stripes. Chartreuse accents permeate the abstract design. The painting is presented behind white mat in a blonde wood frame and is signed to the verso of the paper.

Marthe Keller is an independent artist and art teacher at Hunter College in New York City. She is recognized for her organic yet controlled ability to invent paint from found materials and pigments. Her work is exhibited in many public collections including the Whitney, the Met, and the MOMA.
