Marvin Lowe Signed 1973 “Behind the Screen: Dusk” Limited Edition Intaglio Print


A 1973 limited edition intaglio print titled Behind the Screen: Dusk by American artist Marvin Lowe (1922-2010). This square print features a repeated square screen design in dark blue and black, with an orange line design accenting the composition. The print is signed and dated to the lower right corner, numbered "2/19," and titled to the center. 

Marvin Lowe was born in Brooklyn, New York, and spent most of his life focused on music, befriending Larry Rivers. He attended the University of Iowa for printmaking after previously receiving a BA in English elsewhere. After receiving his MFA, Lowe was hired by Indiana University.

Condition notes:

Age appropriate wear, scuffs, and scratches to the frame. Slight buckling to the print. There is some foxing to the paper.
