Maurice Grossman Signed Studio Pottery Face Hanging People Pot
A Maurice Grossman (American; 1927-2010) signed studio pottery face hanging people pot. The rectangular pot features a raised whimsical face to the front and a hand painted design on the rear. With a small round opening to the top, the pot hangs by an attached brown leather cord. The piece is signed by the artist to the back.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Grossman attended Wayne State University and Ohio State University before moving to Tucson, Arizona. There he became an instructor and created the ceramics program at the University of Arizona. After 35 years of teaching, Grossman retired but continued mentoring and creating art pottery.

There is a small chip to the bottom edge. Age appropriate wear. Scuffs to the back of piece.
