Medard Klein Signed Abstract Graphite Drawing


An abstract graphite drawing by American artist Medard Klein (1905-2002). The non-objective biomorphic drawing depicts expressive lines that create the feeling of movement. The drawing is signed to the lower center and presented behind navy blue mat in a gold tone wooden frame. 

Born in Appleton, Wisconsin, Medard Klein moved to Chicago, Illinois at the age of 21 to become an artist. He gained notoriety for his bold abstractions that were influenced by his love of music. Klein exhibited at the Guggenheim, the Art Institute of Chicago, the San Francisco Museum of Art, and the Library of Congress among other well recognized institutions.
