Michael Jaross Pacifica Glassworks Memphis Style Art Glass Jar
A vibrant Memphis style handblown glass jar by American glass artist Michael Jaross (born 1949). After attending Portland State University, Jaross studied glass under Dale Chihuly at the Pilchuck Glass School. He later went on to teach at the Pratt Fine Arts Center and eventually founded his glass studio, Pacifica Glassworks, in Seattle.
This colorful jar was created out of Jaross's studio Pacifica Glassworks. Round in shape, the jas has a black glass lid with a bright orange circle at the center. The body of the jar is pale pink with four orange dots along the exterior. The jar stands on a round black base and is signed "Pacifica 91" to the underside.
