An acrylic and collage on board by American artist Peter Macara. Signed, dated, and titled The Intersection to the verso, this textural work features five distinctive red shapes against a light brown background. This piece was made by Macara as part of a fundraiser for Lamia Ink!, a not-for-profit arts organization.
Peter Macara was born in Provincetown, Massachusetts and studied art at the University of Massachusetts. In the 1970s, he was awarded a visual artist fellowship at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. Macara was hired by the Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) where he oversaw Community Arts Projects (CAPS), later becoming the Assistant Director and Registrar of PAAM.
