A 1971 abstract watercolor by American artist Robert Dennis Reid (1924-2002). This abstract watercolor features a lowercase letter "a" painted with stripes of pale pastel colors. The watercolor is signed "Reid '71" to the lower right corner and is displayed in a wooden frame and dark blue mat.
American painter Robert Dennis Reid studied at Clark College, the Art Institute of Design, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Parson School Design in the 1940s. He was an instructor at the Summit Art Center in New Jersey. Reid participated in many exhibition venues including the Grand Central Art Gallery in New York City and the 1st World Festival of Negro Artists.

27” x 20” x 1.75” (frame); 21.25” x 15” (sight).
Condition notes:
Minor wear to frame and some scratches in the plexiglass. There are some imperfections in the paper. The mat doesn’t sit quite flush with the frame and painting.
