A 1982 limited edition Op Art artist's proof serigraph titled, Luminescence, by American artist Roy Ahlgren (1927-2011). Lines create a loose squiggle design across the composition. The colors are a gradient starting from maroon to pink, cream, blue, and black. Signed, titled, and denoted "A/P III/XX ED. 150" across the bottom edge of the print.

Roy Ahlgren was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, and began working as an artist-designer for the Louis Marx Toy Company during the 1960s. Though he did not begin painting full-time until his retirement from teaching in 1990, Ahlgren took inspiration from fellow Op Art artist Victor Vasarely and was successful in his artistic career. His work can be found in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Seattle Art Museum, and has been awarded by many organizations, including the Library of Congress.
