Seymour Zayon 1957 Signed Mixed Media “Construction” Collage


A signed mixed media collage by the American artist Seymour Zayon (born 1930). This work, titled Construction, is made up of overlapping painted and dimensional geometric shapes. Painted lines add movement and texture, while sloping lines and intersections draw the eye through the work. Signed "Zayon" to the lower left of the work. Dated, signed, and titled verso.

Seymour Zayon is a painter based in Philadelphia known for his colorful geometric abstract compositions, mixed media and still life paintings. Zayon attended the Fleisher Memorial Art School in South Philadelphia when he was a child, and later trained at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the University of Austin, Texas and in London between 1953-1955.
